In the aftermath of Harvey’s devastation, Southeast Texas showed the resilience to overcome. Neighbors, families and businesses stood together and rebuilt, stronger than ever. A year later, that rebuilding continues. This is why on the first anniversary of Hurricane Harvey hitting the Lone Star State, Entergy Texas is giving $300,000 to local educators, local governments and nonprofit organizations to replace items that Harvey destroyed.

Entergy Mississippi, Inc. has taken another step toward modernizing the electric grid and building the utility of the future. The company intends to purchase the Choctaw Energy Facility, a modern power plant in French Camp, Mississippi, subject to regulatory approval.

Even before the clouds passed, the rain ended and the final power outage was restored, Entergy employees came together to plan. First, Entergy worked to help customers and employees rebuild stronger communities. Entergy employees also worked to rebuild a stronger electric system. In the past year, Entergy Texas has taken steps to protect electric infrastructure, and improve restoration efforts following extreme weather.

Entergy Louisiana provided a $110,000 grant to the Northeast Louisiana Economic Alliance as part of the company’s efforts to support regional economic development across the state.

Summer started early this year for Southeast Texas, and there is no sign of the heat letting up anytime soon! To help customers keep their cool, Entergy Texas, Inc. is donating 1,300 fans this year to those in need.

The voices of the Van Winkle Elementary School students echoed through the school's hallways as the student choir sang "Dream Your Dreams." As the children sang, faculty and Entergy Nuclear staff gathered to announce a special gift. Entergy Nuclear presented a $25,000 grant to Van Winkle.
