The winter weather continues to cause power outages for Entergy Mississippi customers across our service territory. As of 5:30 p.m., 3,341 customers are without power. We expect to restore power to the majority of customers throughout the state today, though outages for some customers in these hardest-hit areas may carry over until tomorrow. We are also monitoring a new winter weather system that will likely affect the central and northern portions of our service area beginning tomorrow afternoon and into Thursday.
As we continue managing restoration from the previous winter weather and low temperatures, we are preparing for additional winter storms to threaten our service territory on Feb. 17.
Entergy continues to return customers to service, prepares for additional winter weather.
Entergy’s Louisiana storm crews are continuing to assess damage and restore power where it is safe to do so after a winter storm brought extremely cold temperatures, freezing rain and large amounts of ice accumulations to the state Sunday and throughout Monday.
While Entergy Arkansas is working hard to address any power problems that occur during this extremely cold weather, customers are asked to also take action to help keep the power flowing.
Our grid operator, MISO, notified our operating companies in Texas and southwest Louisiana to start additional power outages for their customers.
Extreme cold temperatures are expected to last for much of the week and we ask all customers to help conserve electricity.
