In March, New Stage Theatre presented an in-school performance of “Oh, Freedom! The Story of the Underground Railroad” and a classroom workshop at Casey Elementary School in Jackson as part of the theatre’s Arts-in-Education statewide Power Play touring program sponsored by Entergy Mississippi.

For the past seven years, Entergy customer Melissa Delgado has participated in Entergy’s Super Tax Day events to get her taxes done for free. It is one of many events held as part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program – a program sponsored in part by Entergy.

The recognition commends our outstanding efforts in consumer education and promotion of ENERGY STAR, which gives consumers credible, unbiased information to make knowledgeable decisions about energy efficiency.

Filing your taxes can be a daunting task, but some of our customers eased the stress of tax preparation and enjoyed greener returns this year by getting help during Entergy Mississippi’s Super Tax Day, Feb. 17.

As a regulated utility, Entergy Mississippi has an obligation to provide safe, reliable and affordable electricity to our 447,000 customers. But we also have a commitment that goes beyond that obligation. It is to help ensure that the communities we serve—and in which our employees and retirees live—are successful.

According to the old adage, time flies when you're having fun – or at least it seems to pass quickly when you're busy. Employees at the Hinds Energy Facility in Jackson, Mississippi, understand. It seems just like yesterday Entergy Mississippi celebrated the acquisition in 2012 of the 450-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant. And on Nov. 30 of last year, the site marked its fifth year in the company’s power generation portfolio.

In a show of bipartisan support, Senate Bill 2295 recently passed the Mississippi House of Representatives by a vote of 90-26. It now goes back to the Senate for concurrence, where it originally passed by an overwhelming vote of 51-1.

January 25, 2018 marked a historic day for the Mississippi Delta and for Entergy Mississippi. Early that morning, Entergy imploded the Delta Steam Electric Station. This generating plant in Cleveland had served our customers for more than half a century.
