Volunteering is one of the most important ways that Entergy employees power life in our communities. Entergy employees and retirees have given more than one million hours in volunteer service since official tracking began in April 2008. Their hours serving local communities and supporting nonprofits translates into more than $25 million in economic impact.
As the country celebrates National Engineering Week from Feb. 16-22, our company supports engineering year-round by hosting several STEM events across our service territory.
Since Entergy first partnered with ADL in 2009, company shareholders have contributed $530,000 to expand ADL's No Place for Hate program across Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas. As a result, No Place for Hate has reached more than 300,000 students with more schools participating every year.
Since fall 2018, Entergy Corporation has provided free trees to customers through the Arbor Day Foundation’s Energy-Saving Trees program. Through this program, 2,700 trees have been delivered directly to customers’ homes with instructions for determining the best place to plant for energy-saving benefits.
Approximately 30 Entergy employees volunteered to help Santa gift toys to more than 4,000 kids at the annual The Times-Picayune Doll and Toy Fund Gift Giving Event Dec. 21 in New Orleans.
