In all, Entergy Mississippi restored service to over 89,606 customers following the severe weather event.
Damage assessment is complete and we have identified damages to 216 poles, 55 transformers, 91 cross arms, and 812 spans (223,000 feet) of downed wire.
Significant restoration progress was made overnight and as of 8 a.m., 6,844 customers remain without power from this week’s severe storms and high winds. As of 8 a.m. Friday, 69,966 customers have had their power restored.
Entergy’s storm team has restored power to most customers and plan to have nearly all customers who can safely accept service back online by tonight.
Many customers will be restored Thursday evening. However, due to the severity of damages and the widespread impact, some customers in the areas of Natchez, McComb, Hazlehurst, Clinton, Jackson, Hinds County, Madison, Vicksburg, Carthage, Grenada, Charleston, Carmack and Enid may carry over into Friday evening.
A workforce of 1,400 company and contract workers, including damage assessors, vegetation crews, line workers, and support personnel, are diligently working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
