Entergy has long partnered with the LSU College of Engineering to development the workforce of the future, and now, the company has partnered with them to further studies around electrification. Engineering students and members of the school’s TigerRacing team are designing and building an electric vehicle, in part, through a grant provided by Entergy.
Entergy sponsored the Louisiana Policy Institute’s Early Education Month in February to continue our ongoing commitment to increase access to high-quality care and early education for all children.
Grants provided funding and support for broad-based initiatives ranging from disaster relief, education, workforce development, poverty solutions, the arts and community improvements in regions served by Entergy in Arkansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New York and Texas.
Entergy is once again working with Grounds Krewe, a nonprofit organization focused on waste prevention, to increase Mardi Gras recycling efforts and expand the use of eco-friendly throws and consumable goods.
Courtney Nicholson, Entergy New Orleans vice president of regulatory and public affairs, Brittany Dennis, Entergy New Orleans executive assistant and Alicia Hall, Entergy senior counsel were recently recognized by Louisiana Appleseed at the Good Apple Gala for their pro bono efforts to address the injustices against suspended drivers’ licenses. Dennis was the first paralegal to receive the award in Louisiana Appleseed’s history.
Entergy, the City of New Orleans and the Louisiana Public Health Institute have partnered to make New Orleans one of the top 10 cities in the United States for cycling. Entergy is continuing to ensure that more wheels are on the ground each year through its continued support for bicycle infrastructure. On Jan. 26, Entergy unveiled a sponsored electric Blue Bikes Hub in front of the Entergy Corporate building on Loyola Avenue.
Entergy's ongoing support of the Earned Income Tax Credit and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites demonstrates the company's commitment to empowering families and growing our communities. Since 2009, our support of VITA sites has helped return $298 million to residents throughout our service area.
