Fierce storms that brought heavy lightning, strong winds and flash flooding across the entire state knocked out power to thousands of Entergy Arkansas customers.

Storm-related outages for Entergy Arkansas are widespread this evening but heavier in the Central and Southwest Regions.

A little more than 2,000 Entergy Arkansas customers were without power Friday morning, following severe weather that impacted the state Wednesday through Thursday.

Several storms brought flash flooding, lightning, damaging hail, and gusts of wind greater than 60 mph across the state Wednesday, causing approximately 26,000 customer interruptions and a peak of 16,525.

From finding yourself in a mess of mud in the middle of a Louisiana bayou to thawing out the door handle of your truck during an Arkansas ice storm, there are a wide range of challenges that Entergy lineworkers face during storm restoration.

As of 8 a.m., crews and resources were working to restore outages to the remaining 1,000 customers as quickly and as safely as possible.

As of 4 p.m., statewide outages have been reduced to 3,540 customers. Over 86,000 customer outages have been restored, totaling 95% of customers who experienced an outage in the last few days.

The remaining customers without power are in the hardest-hit areas of Forrest City, Marion, Stuttgart, Harrisburg and Blytheville.
