It’s time to prepare for spring weather

02/23/2022

Entergy Texas recognizes Severe Weather Preparedness Week, Feb. 20-26

BEAUMONT, Texas – Flowers, light showers and singing birds are the gifts of springtime, but the warm weather season also brings something less desired: thunderstorms, floods and tornadoes.

Entergy Texas, Inc. employees plan and train year-round, ready to respond and restore power when extreme, unpredictable weather causes power outages and downed power lines. The perpetual cycle of planning, preparation and training ensures the company is Operation Storm Ready for every weather situation. The company monitors the weather, and crews are ready to respond and restore power should severe weather strike.

Additionally, Entergy Texas continually invests to harden and modernize its infrastructure to improve grid resiliency and minimize power disruptions for customers.

As winter comes to an end and spring makes its debut, Entergy Texas encourages customers to prepare now for the extreme, unpredictable weather the new season brings.

Make a plan

Prepare for extreme weather in advance by assembling an emergency kit of basic supplies. Knowing exactly when and where severe weather will occur is unlikely, so preparing in advance is critical. Entergy Texas can help customers prepare with tips on developing a family plan and preparing an emergency kit of basic supplies. For more information, visit entergynewsroom.com/storm-center/plankit

After stocking up, customers should ensure they have several ways of getting severe weather warnings. Install a smartphone app that will alert when severe weather is in the area, or sign up for emergency alerts that are available for customers. A weather radio with a loud alarm can also help alert when severe weather threatens overnight.
