This September we focus is preparing and educating older adults for disasters, who often have additional medical, dietary and/or transportation needs and considerations.
With continued high temperatures expected in the coming days across parts of our service area, we ask customers to join us in taking every precaution to remain safe from the extreme heat and follow any local or state orders, like full or partial burn bans.
While Entergy Mississippi focused on getting 300,000 customers back online, it also helped employees displaced by floods and devastation in New Orleans and neighboring areas, many of whom relocated to Jackson and were able to work in temporary offices.
Make plans now to be safety aware and stay informed during the peak part of the season.
The next few weeks are critical, with past late-August storms such as Hurricanes Andrew, Katrina, Laura and Ida reminding us of the need to be ready. Entergy Mississippi is prepared for potential hurricanes this season, and you should be ready, too.
An operations hub in the heart of a disaster zone
Entergy Mississippi has restored service to all customer outages that occurred during the recent storms, including those affected by the severe weather that struck our service area on Sunday, June 25 through Tuesday, June 27.
Restoration efforts have been progressing well from Sunday night’s weather and from the storm system that entered the Entergy Mississippi service territory at 5:30 pm Tuesday afternoon. The outages peaked at 9,010 at 8:30 pm Tuesday evening. As of 7 pm a little over 3,500 customers are without power.
