Chan Tucker, a 16-year Entergy Arkansas veteran, has been named the new Entergy Arkansas southeast region manager. He replaces Clarence Irby, who accepted a similar job in his home state of Mississippi. Tucker currently serves as supervisor of substation operations.

Tucker will be responsible for all customer service and distribution operations in the southeast Arkansas portion of Entergy Arkansas’ service territory. Entergy Arkansas is organized into five regions. The southeast region includes territory ranging from Forrest City to Lake Village to Fordyce. Tucker’s office will be in Pine Bluff.

Approximately 110 employees will report up to Tucker, and he will report to Oscar Washington, newly named vice president of customer service.

“Chan has an impressive combination of advanced education, diverse experience in the utility business and the proven ability to lead others toward solutions that have good outcomes for all concerned,” said Washington. “The company has high standards and ambitious goals for safety and service reliability, and I know Chan is going to do a great job championing these efforts in the southeast region.”

Tucker grew up in Hamburg, Ark., and joined Entergy in 2000 as a grid operations engineer in Little Rock. He worked for three years in New Orleans as a design engineer, then moved back to Little Rock in 2008, where he has worked as a supervisor of substations operations and manager of distribution large projects.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Louisiana Technology University in Ruston and a master’s in business administration from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Neb.
