Teach for America Greater New Orleans and Entergy Corporation are teaming up to celebrate 30 years of commitment to educational excellence for students in the Greater New Orleans area.
Entergy has donated more than 460 refurbished laptops this summer to school districts in our service territory so students have the technology they need when they return to school this fall.
To inspire young people to help find new solutions to the flooding issues presented by climate change, Entergy sponsored a week-long educational symposium, Loyola Academy Science + Design, hosted by Loyola University.
Since 2000, Entergy has been engaged in advocating for increased funding and support for early care and education — recognizing the sector as essential infrastructure and economic engine to fuel the future of communities we serve.
In 2005, Hurricane Katrina wreaked havoc on the city’s urban canopy, making New Orleans one of the most deforested cities in America. As part of Entergy’s commitment to grow strong, healthy and vibrant communities through service and environmental stewardship, Entergy began partnering with NOLA Tree Project in 2015 to help restore the estimated 100,000 lost trees.
As the pandemic continues creating economic hardships for many Americans, free tax-return assistance provided by Entergy volunteers has been vital in helping customers receive Earned Income Tax Credits, one of the most effective tools for lifting low-income workers and their families above the poverty line.
Powered by Entergy, 100+ high-school girls experience a week of learning and mentorship.
Entergy will once again help customers who qualify for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit claim the money they’ve earned. Entergy will also continue its partnership with community advocates to support free IRS-certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistance tax preparation services for qualifying customers.
During a year of unprecedented challenges, Entergy and its employees went above and beyond to support our customers and communities throughout 2020. As we welcome a new year, we reflect on our top 20 corporate social responsibilities moments of 2020.
