John Gain will be honored as the Entergy Texas Lineman of the Game during Sunday’s Saints vs. Rams game in New Orleans.

Gain is a graduate of Sam Houston State University and has been a lineman for more than 30 years.

"I've always liked linework,” said Gain. “I like the brotherhood; every day presents something different, and I like helping people."

Not only does Gain work as a lineman, but he also works with his son who is a lineman for Entergy Texas.

During his time at Entergy Texas, John has worked more than 25 storms across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi and assisted many other utilities across the southeastern part of the United States.

Gain holds safety at a high standard as he is currently a member of the Texas Safety Advisory Board and was also a member of the employee engagement committee.

"John is very hardworking and is always the first to volunteer to work after hours or lend a hand to another network when needed,” said Jason Orlando, utility foreman for Entergy Texas. “His love and devotion to Entergy and to this line of work has made him a great employee, mentor, and co-worker. We are honored to have worked with him over the years and look forward to many more.”

Gain and his grandson will enjoy two nights in New Orleans, a pre-game on-field pass to watch the players warm up, and tickets to watch the game.

Congratulations to John Gain!
