Entergy Mississippi Continues Restoration After Second Wave of Storms

04/19/2019

Entergy Mississippi continues to restore power after a second wave of severe thunderstorms and high winds moved through our service area on April 18, causing numerous outages which peaked at 28,300 customers. Damage assessment continues, and additional resources have been brought in to assist in the restoration effort. Saturated grounds and large numbers of downed trees have made it difficult to reach some areas. We are working to safely restore power as quickly as possible. As of 3 p.m., 22,000 customers have been restored. We will continue to work to restore power to the remaining about 6,300 customers.

Most customers that can take power safely are expected to be restored by late Friday, April 19. Estimated restoration time for customers in the hardest hit parts of the Metro area is Saturday, April 20. We will provide additional information regarding the outages and estimated restoration times by 6 p.m.
