$50,000 rebate will help offset the cost of upgrading the agency’s office in Little Rock.

Energy-efficiency incentives from Entergy Arkansas are helping the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission save money by reducing the amount electricity costs at the AGFC's headquarters.

Earlier this year, the AGFC began an upgrade of the agency's Little Rock office, said the agency's Facility Coordinator Wade McNew. That enhancement included the building's lighting system.

"As a conservation agency, we're trying to do our part to be energy efficient. This rebate certainly helps offset the cost of upgrading the AGFC's office in Little Rock," McNew explained.

Participation in Entergy's Large Commercial and Industrial program resulted in a $50,733 rebate presented to the AGFC during the monthly commission meeting in June. The rebate will be used to offset the cost of the building's lighting system. The lighting upgrade included facility-wide LED lighting conversion and motion-detection switches.

"Taking steps to be more energy efficient helps not only the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, but all Entergy Arkansas customers because when we reduce the overall demand for electricity, we defer the need to build expensive new power plants," said Entergy Arkansas's Beau Blankenship. "That's a win-win for communities, companies and The Natural State."
